Today, the Dutch artist, Vincent Van Gogh – born in March of 1853 – is beloved by many. His life, work and tragic early death have been the subjects of scholarly research, novels and movies – including the world’s first completely hand-painted film, Loving Vincent. But van Gogh’s works did not sell in his lifetime. His rise to fame was the accomplishment of Jo Bonger van Gogh, the widow of Vincent’s beloved brother Theo.
