1. Library Mission statement
To provide and promote Library information and sustain services that enlighten the minds and enrich the lives of community residents and visitors of all ages.
2. Library Advisory Board
Collier County Public Library Advisory Board is appointed by the Board
of County Commissioners. The five Library Advisory Board members
establish library policy and recommend courses of action concerning the
future development of the library system. Members serve four-year terms.
Library Advisory Board meetings are open to the public. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each
month at 10 a.m. Please see the Meeting Schedule
for specific dates, times and locations.

3. Donation policy
Your generosity in donating books to our library helps fund programs. Most items donated are offered to the public at book sales. Leftover book sale items are offered to area non-profit agencies or recycled.
Donated materials must be brought in through the main entry at any branch location during operating hours. Books left outside are susceptible to weather damage and will be discarded.
Items accepted for donation:
Fiction/non-fiction hardcover or paperback books - 2 years old or newer.
Like new music CDs, audio books on CD, DVD's - with original case and jacket.
Items not accepted for donation:
Items that are dusty, moldy, worn, or torn.
Condensed books/Reader's Digest, magazines and newspapers (including National Geographic, Time Life).
Textbooks, cassettes, VHS, or encyclopedia sets.
Receipts are available, if requested, but the library cannot assess a dollar value to any donation.
4. Employment opportunities
employment openings in the Library are announced on the Collier

Position title, employment type, salary, and closing date for applying
are indicated. Due to the high volume of applications received when
positions are announced, closing dates may be advanced without notice.
To apply for an announced position, please complete the
online application on the website. You can also request email
notification of posted positions for up to 12 months by completing a
job interest "card" on the website.
5. Volunteer opportunities
14 years of age and older share their time, talents, and expertise as
valued members of an enthusiastic team within the Collier County Public
Some offer specialized skills in book repair and genealogy reference. Many help with shelving of materials and shelf
maintenance at a library convenient to their home. Many younger
volunteers perform community service required for scholarship
